Biography

A Fort Lauderdale, Florida native received her formal dance training, beginning age eleven from the artistic direction of Natalie Tellini and Bernadette Doverspike at Danl Dance Center. In the next seven years at Danl Dance Center, she became well-versed in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop. She integrated her dance education with training at the  Calvary Christian Academy Dance Department, where she studied pointe and Horton based technique. Aja now attends Boston Conservatory at Berklee, studying Contemporary Dance Performance as the class of twenty twenty-five dance division’s Presidential Scholar. While training under the conservatory’s esteemed dance faculty such as Gianni Di Marco, Kurt Douglas, Ruka Hatua-Saar White, and Brian McGinnis, she has choreographed several original pieces of choreography. Additionally, she has performed masterworks on the mainstage including Closest to the Sun an original work by Norbert de la Cruz III, José Limón’s The Unsung, and KCON an original work by Jennifer Archibald. Alongside her dance studies and performance career, Aja has a strong interest in dance pedagogy. She’s eager to spread the delight of dance in her community, having taught students from ages four to seventeen. Her love for dance gleams through all she does.
